Cosmetic Dentist Kalamazoo

The goal of cosmetic dentistry is to improve the appearance of teeth that show when you smile and talk. While a cosmetic issue with your teeth may not affect your oral health, it can affect your confidence.

If you hide your smile on a regular basis, it’s time to see our cosmetic dentist in Kalamazoo, MI. Continue reading to learn what types of cosmetic dentistry we offer.

Types of Cosmetic Dentistry

  • Clear Aligners (Invisalign®, ClearCorrect)
  • Custom Teeth Whitening Trays
  • In-Office Zoom Whitening
  • Porcelain Veneers
  • Bonding

Invisalign and ClearCorrect

If you’ve dreaded the idea of brackets and wires on your teeth, ask our cosmetic dentist about getting Invisalign or ClearCorrect. These nearly invisible aligners are designed to straighten your teeth little by little. That way, you’ll be able to safely straighten teeth and correct bite issues for a healthier smile.

Unlike traditional metal braces, clear aligners are discreet. While someone may notice your clear aligners up close, most people won’t be able to tell. This means that you’ll be able to straighten teeth without anyone having to know! Clear aligners are also removable so you can continue eating your favorite foods.

Teeth Whitening

We are able to make custom whitening trays for you to use at home. During your first appointment, we’ll take impressions of your teeth. When you return for your next appointment, your custom whitening trays will be ready.

Custom teeth whitening trays fit much better than what you would find over the counter. They also use a stronger bleaching solution so you can achieve dramatic results. We offer bleaching solutions in different strengths.

That way, you can choose whether you want to wear your custom whitening trays for a few hours or overnight. We also offer Zoom teeth whitening in our office so you can whiten teeth by several shades in one appointment.

Porcelain Veneers

Veneers are thin porcelain shells we can bond to the front of teeth. Porcelain veneers can cover slight chips, cracks, stains, and other minor imperfections. To make room for your veneers, we’ll need to remove a thin layer of enamel.  The veneers are bonded to the teeth with cement.

Proper home care is important to increase the longevity of the restorations.  Avoid biting down on nuts, ice, and hard candy with your veneers because they can get chipped and damaged. Also, if you grind your teeth at night ask our dentist about getting a custom-fit night guard to protect your veneers and your teeth from further damage.

Teeth Bonding

We may recommend resin bonding to restore teeth with small chips, cracks, spaces, or stains. For the procedure, we mold a tooth-colored dental putty to your tooth. We then use a special light to harden the material to your tooth.
